Even you should file complaint against employer for wrongdoings and protect yourself. At this stage you dont know where did he used your account details. In future there could be further action and such complaint will help atleast to protect yourself. concern department i.e. cyber cell investigate the matter and you will be relived from future consequences, That apart your complaint will also restrict such tendency of employer to hack someones account and make unauthorized use of it.
Hacking is a Cyber Offence under Information Technology Act 2000. If You have evidence to prove that your email and WhatsApp account, then you can initiate Criminal Proceedings against your Former employer for causing wrongful loss or damage to your privacy. Infact, you can also file complaint against them for destroying or deleting or altering any information from your email of whatsapp account. If convicted, they may be punished with imprisonment up to three years, or with fine which may extend up to two lakh rupees, or with both.
